You can still run your old DOS programs right from macOS without having to power off your machine and boot up from your MS-DOS diskette by following these steps;

Steps to run DOS progam in macOS:

  1. Install Homebrew from the terminal.
    $ /usr/bin/ruby -e "$(curl -fsSL"
  2. Install DOSBox via homebrew.
    $ brew install dosbox
  3. Run your program's executable from DOSBox.
    $ dosbox Downloads/Golden\ Axe/GOLD.EXE
    DOSBox version 0.74
    Copyright 2002-2010 DOSBox Team, published under GNU GPL.
    CONFIG: Generating default configuration.
    Writing it to /Users/username/Library/Preferences//DOSBox 0.74 Preferences
