Screen auto-lock is a feature that locks the screen of your iPhone and iPad after a set period of inactivity. iOS is set to lock automatically in 30 seconds, while in iPadOS, it's 2 minutes.

The feature saves your device's battery life while providing privacy and security by preventing unauthorized access to your iPhone or iPad from an unlocked screen.

You can change the timeout before the screen locks from the Settings app. You can also set the time to Never to disable the screen auto-lock completely.

Steps to disable screen auto lock in iOS and iPadOS:

  1. Launch Settings from Spotlight or the Home screen.
  2. Tap on Display & Brightness.
  3. Tap on Auto-Lock.
  4. Select the time for auto-lock to start.

Setting the option to Never disables the display auto lock feature completely.
